The Hundredth Queen by Emily R. King
Publisher: Skyscape
Publication Date: June 1st, 2017
Goodreads / Pre-order
As an orphaned ward of the Sisterhood, eighteen-year-old Kalinda is destined for nothing more than a life of seclusion and prayer. Plagued by fevers, she's an unlikely candidate for even a servant's position, let alone a courtesan or wife. Her sole dream is to continue living in peace in the Sisterhood's mountain temple.
But a visit form the tyrant Rajah Tarek disrupts Kalinda's life. Within hours, she is ripped from the comfort of her home, set on a desert trek, and ordered to fight for her place among the rajah's ninety-nine wives and numerous courtesans. Hero only solace comes in the company of her guard, the stoic but kind Captain Deven Naik.
Faced with the danger of a tournament to the death -- and her growing affection for Deven -- Kalinda's only hope for escape lies in an arcane, forbidden power that's buried within her.
In Emily R. King's thrilling fantasy debut, an orphan girl blossoms into a warrior, summing courage and confidence in her fearless quest to upend tradition, overthrow an empire, and reclaim her life as her own.

Anything You Can Do by R.S. Grey cover reveal!
Anything You Can Do by R.S. Grey
Publication: February 1st, 2017
Goodreads
Lucas Thatcher has always been my enemy.
It's been a decade since I've seen him, but our years of opposite coasts were less of a lasting peace and more of a temporary cease-fire. No that we're both back in out small town, Lucas excepts the same old war, but I've changed since high school -- and from the looks of it, so has he.
The arrogant boy who was my teenage rival is now a chiseled doctor armed with intimidating good looks. He is Lucas Thatcher 2.0, the new and improved version I'll be competing with in the workplace instead of the schoolyard.
I'm not worried; I'm a doctor now too, board-certified and sexy in a white coat. It almost feels like winning will be too easy -- until Lucas unveils a tactic neither of us has ever used before: sexual warfare.
The day he pushes me up against a wall and presses his lips to mine, I can't help but wonder if he's filling me with passions or poison. Every fleeting touch is perfect torture. With every stolen kiss, my walls crumble a little more. After all this time, Lucas know exactly how to strip me of my defenses, but I'm in no hurry to surrender.
Knowing thy enemy has never felt so good.
About the author
I am a lover of books, chocolate, reality TV, black labs, and cold weather. Seriously, if I had it my way I would be curled up on the couch with all of the things... everyday.
I live in Texas where I spent my free time writing and reading. My favorite authors are Mindy Kaling & Jonathan Safron Foer. I'm a comedy geek and love all things "funny". Women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mind Kaling are definitely the biggest inspirations for my writing, though I think my work tends to skew a bit smuttier than theirs.
I am so so SOOO incredibly excited for Anything You Can Do! I've always been a huge fan of the enemies-to-lovers trope, and throw in a sexy workroom fling and witty banter, and I'm donezo. Are you excited for this?! Let me know down in the comments! :)

Monthly wrap-up: December 2016
2016 is ovaaaaa and I'm honestly glad to see it be gone. It was a tough year for me. It ended on a good note, but for most of it, I was struggling with a lot of personal issues. So, BYE FELICIA. I just got back from my trip home to Chicago, and unintentionally went on a little hiatus because of it. I was going to post this before I left, but things got a little crazy and I didn't have time. (Or really want to, to be honest.) But I'm back! And here is my wrap up for December :)
(Also, apologies for all my crazy graphics. A goal of mine for 2017 is to get some custom made ones and stick to those.)
My favorite of December had to be between After The Fall and Violet Grenade. They both delved into the topics of self-discovery and overcoming loss, and were both so achingly beautiful and funny and wonderful that I cried multiple times. After The Fall dumped one of the biggest bombs on me, while Violet Grenade crooned to my darker side in a hilarious and sinful way. (Who's Wilson? Definitely the love of my life.)

On the blog
I, theoretically, had a lot of posts planned for this month. But I never found the time to complete them. (Aka I'm a lazy sack of poo.) So I only posted reviews for this month: One for Frostblood, and then a batch of mini reviews for The Hating Game, After The Fall, Infinity, and Seven Days of You.
Music I've been loving
Like It's Over (Party Pupils remix) by Jai Wolf // Caroline by Amine // Bad and Boujee by Migos // Fire by Louis The Child // Beneath With Me by Kaskade // Post Malone's Stoney album // The Weeknd's Starboy album // Deja Vu by J. Cole // Savage (ft. Flux Pavilion) by Whethan
TV Shows I've been watching
I'm somehow watching a million shows at once: Penny Dreadful, Sense8, Black Mirror, and Shameless. Shameless is coming out on top at the moment, since I'm so hooked on it, but I seriously love all of these shows. They're so incredibly diverse and interesting.
Life shenanigans
A lot of exciting things are in the works, but I don't want to talk about it now since it's still a little early. But 2017 is already looking a thousand times better than 2016!
What did you read or watch this month? Anything you think I would like? Tell me your favorites down below in the comments :)
