Mini reviews: FINDING AUDREY and STARS ABOVE

FINDING AUDREY by Sophie Kinsella
Publisher: Delacorte Books
Publication Date: June 9th, 2015
Pages: 286
Rating: 4.5 stars

An anxiety disorder disrupts fourteen-year-old Audrey’s daily life. She has been making slow but steady progress with Dr. Sarah, but when Audrey meets Linus, her brother’s gaming teammate, she is energized. She connects with him. Audrey can talk through her fears with Linus in a way she’s never been able to do with anyone before. As their friendship deepens and her recovery gains momentum, a sweet romantic connection develops, one that helps not just Audrey but also her entire family.

CUTENESS OVERLOAD. I REPEAT: CUTENESS. OVERLOAD. That's literally all I could think when I finished listening to the audiobook of this (which is fantastic, by the way). This is the perfect, fluffy book you need if you want to read about anxiety, but don't want something that's too heavy. It's realistic, too! Don't think that they barely touch upon her anxiety and focus solely on the romance. Her family is crazy and loud, her mom is borderline psychotic, Linus is the sweetest, her brothers are hilarious, and Audrey herself was just so much fun. She was witty, thoughtful, and strong, and I was rooting for her the whole time.

STARS ABOVE by Marissa Meyer

The enchantment continues....
The universe of the Lunar Chronicles holds stories—and secrets—that are wondrous, vicious, and romantic. How did Cinder first arrive in New Beijing? How did the brooding soldier Wolf transform from young man to killer? When did Princess Winter and the palace guard Jacin realize their destinies?
With nine stories—five of which have never before been published—and an exclusive never-before-seen excerpt from Marissa Meyer’s upcoming novel, Heartless, about the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland, Stars Above is essential for fans of the bestselling and beloved Lunar Chronicles.

YaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSS *starts uncontrollably sobbing*
That was basically my reaction the entire time I was reading this. The tears were real. Every author of a series should do this. It's genius. It's exactly what the readers want, it's more money for the publishing company and authors, and honestly, what author doesn't want to revisit the world they've created? IT'S GENIUS, I TELL YOU. I loved every single story almost equally. The wedding story,  however, knocked it out of the park. It also knocked my heart straight up into my throat and almost made me choke. If you liked, loved, or savagely devoured The Lunar Chronicles, then you need get your hands on this pronto. YOU NEED IT.
